Traveled from North Carolina back to what was our home in Central Illinois. When asked where to go we said Veterans Pizza. They make a great bacon chicken ranch with a great price on domestic beers. The bartenders are some of the best, and the atmosphere is for the people who served our country. We showed up with a young toddler who wanted truckers going by to honk at her. Every time one did, the bar cheered for her. Man I love this bar.

$16 for a 12” “totinos” pizza. I wouldn’t pay $3 for what I got. I had to come back to this review because I was too upset when I wrote the first review. So let’s start off again. I ordered two medium pizzas. The website said $12 when I got there they were $16. I read the obviously fabricated reviews saying how good the pizza is. Another mistake by me for not looking for pictures first (Mistake 1). The bar is the epitome of a dive bar. Very dirty as a gas station would easily be cleaner. When I got the receipt I was surprised the pizzas cost $32 for 2 mediums. I could have easily got 3 large pizzas from Dominos for the same price and the pizzas would have been edible. The cost is like they are importing the vegetables from Spain or France. I’m telling you I could have made the same pizza for $2. -The crust was tasteless. -The sauce was tomato sauce from a can -The cheese was lightly added -The sausage had no taste. A $16 dollar very thin pizza might have been acceptable in a fancy restaurant with a wood fired oven but this was the diviest of dive bars and the pizza was less impressive than the dollar pizza at Costco! You can get an 18” pizza at Costco for under $10 and it is

Some would probably call this a "dive bar" but the service and atmosphere were the first things that you'll notice. It is... political inside so if you don't want to see that, you probably won't like it. That said, it wasn't talked about & didn't bother us. My family stopped on our way to a concert & we are already talking about driving back some time soon. The pizzas are delicious and our son got a HUGE plate of the spaghetti and meatballs special. He can usually take down a whole serving anywhere but he couldn't finish this! The locals were all friendly too. Our server was so nice, even gave me the special price on domestic drafts ($1!!!). She said that is during certain times but still. You can't get a dollar beer many places anymore. We absolutely couldn't recommend it any higher.

Awesome time! 1.50 beers! Taco Tuesdays! Best bar in town! Thanks for showing us a great time! Golden tee was clutch. Slots stole our money. Oldsmobile tires were filled. Coors banquets need restocked. Cheers from Buffalo, NY!
